The Business
The client is a physician-led hormone therapy and weight loss clinic that also offers peptide therapy and medical aesthetics. Its physician manages hormone therapy, peptides and GLP-1 weight loss medication in one patient chart. Its buyers range from women in perimenopause to men with low testosterone and patients whose weight returned after a GLP-1 prescription. The clinic competes on three differentiators: the physician reads every lab panel, labs come before any prescription, and each dose is set against the results.
These buyers ask AI engines questions such as what to look for in a hormone clinic, why weight returns after a GLP-1 prescription and whether one physician can manage hormones, peptides and weight loss medication together. The pilot aimed to make the client’s name appear in the answers to questions like these.
The Objective
The pilot set out to make the client a source that AI engines cite when buyers ask about physician-led hormone therapy and weight loss care. It used two published assets and measured the results once after launch. Specifically:
- Focus on buyer questions about hormone therapy, peptide therapy and GLP-1 weight loss, where the buyer is close to a decision
- Publish one Anchor Article on the client’s domain to build its authority on physician-led hormone and metabolic care
- Publish one AI Notice on the wire to extend third-party distribution and strengthen citation opportunities around the same topic
- Track the client’s AI visibility on five AI engines, with a fixed set of buyer prompts for each asset
- Measure share of voice and prompt coverage against competing hormone and weight loss clinics
- Count how often the engines named the client when the question did not mention the brand
Core Challenges
Competing With Hormone and Weight Loss Clinics Already Named in AI Answers
During the pilot, the strongest rival clinics were each named 40 to 65 times in the AI Notice prompt set. The answers cited 2,418 different websites. The most-cited included a medical research database, social media pages, a review site and a video platform. Engines tend to recommend the brands these sources already discuss, so the client needed a source of its own.
Buyers Ask AI for Physician-Led Hormone Therapy and Weight Loss Care
Buyers in this category ask exact questions: who reads their lab results, what gets tested before a prescription, whether one chart can cover hormones, peptides and GLP-1 medication, and why weight returned after a GLP-1 prescription. To answer them, the client needed an authoritative source that gives buyers and AI engines every one of these details.
Tracing New AI Visibility Back to Its Source
With two assets in market, both telling the same one-physician, one-chart story, a total citation count would not have shown which one the engines were citing. Only per-citation attribution could separate them, so the pilot traced every appearance back to the page behind it.
The Strategy
Cluster Selection
The pilot targeted physician-led hormone therapy and weight loss care, a cluster of buyer questions that sit close to a buying decision. The prompt sets speak for several related audiences, from patients to health journalists.
One Anchor Article
A long-form guide on the client’s own website became the trusted source of authority on physician-led hormone and metabolic care. It gives buyers and AI engines one credible page to learn from. Because the client owns the page, AI engines can keep crawling and citing it after the pilot ends.
The AI Notice on the Wire and in AI Answers
The AI Notice went out on the wire, placing the client’s story on third-party domains.
Day-Zero Launch, Day-7 Measurement
The AI Notice went live on day 0. The program waits seven days before it measures. After that wait, the pilot ran every buyer prompt on five AI engines and counted each citation that pointed back to the AI Notice’s placements and to the Anchor Article. The numbers on this page are a single snapshot of the citations between publication and the report date.
AI Visibility Results
After launch, the client was the most-named brand in the AI Notice prompt set, with 313 mentions on the five engines.

Share of Voice Among Hormone and Weight Loss Clinics
The client’s 313 mentions were nearly five times the 65 of the nearest rival clinic. The next two clinics were named 53 and 46 times. In the answers that named both brands, the client ranked higher in 88% of 33 matchups.

Prompt Coverage and First-Named Finishes
The client’s AI visibility reached 120 of 200 buyer prompts. It ranked in the top three on 58% of the 200 prompts and finished first 272 times across the five engines. The largest groups among the 120 were buyer-intent questions (37), category questions (31) and brand-direct questions (28).
Unprompted Discovery
Only 28 of the 120 prompts that named the client asked about the brand directly. The other 92, or 77%, did not mention it. They asked about topics such as GLP-1 weight regain, lab testing before a prescription and how to choose a physician-led clinic.
The report’s awareness funnel follows that coverage from a buyer’s first question to a brand search. Coverage rises from 28% of unaware prompts to 84% of solution-aware prompts, and every brand search named the client (28 of 28). Unaware prompts, where the buyer has not yet identified the problem, were the weakest stage at 10 of 36.
| Buyer awareness stage | Coverage | Named the client | Prompts in stage | Avg position |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unawarehas not identified the problem | 28% | 10 | 36 | #1.1 |
| Problem-Awareknows the problem, still scoping solutions | 32% | 14 | 44 | #1.1 |
| Solution-Awareevaluating solution categories | 84% | 31 | 37 | #1.6 |
| Product-Awarecomparing specific products | 67% | 37 | 55 | #1.2 |
| Most-Awaresearching by brand name | 100% | 28 | 28 | #1.0 |
AI Visibility by Engine
All five engines named the client and read it positively. Claude, Perplexity and Grok rated it a top pick, and ChatGPT and Gemini recommended it. Claude named the client in 77 of 200 prompts, followed by Grok at 72, Perplexity at 69, Gemini at 60 and ChatGPT at 43. Average positions ran from #1.1 on Claude and Gemini to #1.4 on Grok, and first-place finishes ranged from 69 on Claude to 33 on ChatGPT.

Where the AI Visibility Came From
Citation tracking on Gemini, Perplexity and Grok logged 15,114 source citations from 2,418 unique domains. The report logged no citation data for Claude and ChatGPT. The client’s own website ranked fourth among cited domains, with 361 citations. Yahoo Finance, which carried the AI Notice, ranked seventh with 219. The AI Notice earned 267 placement citations on its own (Grok 124, Perplexity 99, Gemini 44), more than three times the 75 the program guarantees. Engines used the release as a source in 59% of buyer prompts. In a separate set of 400 prompts, two of the five engines cited the Anchor Article 46 times: Claude 42 and Grok 4.
Distribution Reach
The AI Notice reached 337 placements with a combined audience of 124.5M monthly unique visitors. Seven placements carried the citations: Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Finance Singapore, two wire placements, Santé Log, martechdepot.com and Chinook Observer. Those seven account for 38.7M of the reach, 31% of the total. Gemini, Perplexity and Grok cited them.
Google AI Overview Visibility
Google tracking covered 200 keywords, 17 branded and 183 non-branded. The AI Notice’s placements ranked on Google for 12 of them, all non-branded: 11 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 3. Google AI Overviews appeared for all 200 keywords and cited those placements on 14, all non-branded. One answer quoted a placement as the first source.

Examples From AI Answers
The examples below show how AI engines responded to hormone therapy buyer prompts and which sources they cited.
“Is it possible to manage hormone therapy, peptides and GLP-1 weight loss with one physician and one chart?” (asked as Prospective Patient)
Grok ranked the client first and rated it a top pick, calling it the clearest example of an integrated clinic with one physician, one chart and coordinated management of hormone therapy, peptides and GLP-1 weight loss. Claude and Google also named the client first.
“What is the difference between a hormone clinic that tests before prescribing versus one that doses based on symptoms alone?” (asked as Comparison Shopper)
Google described the client’s approach as integrated, lab-driven care that combines GLP-1 weight loss treatment, peptide therapy and hormone replacement in one plan, in contrast to symptom-only prescribing. It ranked the client first.
“What does it mean to titrate hormone doses against repeat lab results?” (asked as Patient Already on HRT)
For a patient already on hormone therapy, Google ranked the client first and named it the clinic that best fit the criteria, citing physician-led care, a metabolic focus and independent physician ownership. It rated the client a top pick.
None of the three prompts named the client, yet the engines ranked it first each time, and each engine cited a copy of the AI Notice among its sources.
How We Measured
The pilot measured AI visibility with two separate sets of buyer prompts, 200 for the AI Notice and 400 for the Anchor Article. Both ran on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok. The AI Notice set covered five question types: buyer intent, terminology, category, education and brand-direct. The Anchor Article set covered the same five. Both reports recorded every brand each engine named. Share of voice counts those mentions on all five engines and compares the client with competing clinics, leaving out drug names and professional organizations. The AI Notice report logged cited sources on Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, and the Anchor Article report logged them on all five engines. Citations were matched by exact URL, so every citation credited to an asset on this page points at that asset’s page.
About the measurement
All results come from a pilot built around one Anchor Article and one AI Notice. The AI Notice ran in July 2026. Each asset was measured once after launch. The two prompt sets differ, so their figures are reported separately and never combined.
Why This Matters
The client was the most-named brand in AI answers about physician-led hormone therapy and weight loss care. Of the 120 prompts that named it, 92 (77%) came from questions that did not mention the brand. Buyers who asked about GLP-1 weight regain, lab testing before a prescription and one-chart care found the client through the answer itself.
This pilot covered one round of buyer questions in the client’s category. More Anchor Articles and AI Notices can extend the same method to the questions it did not reach.
