You Can’t Be What You Can’t See #Shorts

Speaker 1:

I’m so grateful for all these opportunities that I had, from Cisco to Sony sponsoring a camp for youth that needed it. Aka, your parents didn’t have time that summer to do much with you, and you didn’t have the resources to do these things. So, sponsored a two week camp when I was in 7th grade, and I got to go to all these museums and IMAX and just have these experiences that we didn’t have the resources, money, or time to… I do think exposing minorities and underserved communities with these kind of opportunities is massive because you can’t be what you can’t see, and you don’t know what’s out there because you don’t know what out there. And as a child, your world is pretty small. It’s only what you’re exposed to. So, these opportunities, I think, are what helped me to say, “There’s got to be more out there.”
